Antique Kalamkari Textile Wall-Hanging

Date: undated but attributed to the 19th century. Possibly very early 20th Century. Size: 115.5cm x 191.6cm. Hand block printed on glazed cotton. Produced in India or possibly Persia. Double-sided. Highly decorative, with images of the Cypress Tree of Life, birds including peacocks, animals and flowers on one side with a floral decoration to the reverse. Hanging tags to the edges and top corners. One of a near-matching pair that we have in stock which are 2cm different in size. Has a few very minor age-spots, a few marks which are shown in the photographs, minor wear and pin holes to the corners and minor creasing but in very good indeed condition overall with excellent colouration and sheen to the cotton surface. Scarce.
