Sheet size: 66.1cm x 52.3cm with good, wide margins to the printed image. Date: circa 1832. Printed on Whatman paper with watermark for 1832. Original etching with early or original hand-colouring. Light foxing, some of which is to the upper margin and left hand margin of the image. Very minor creasing. Good condition overall with bright hand-colouring. Prideaux John Selby, known as the English Audubon, was born in 1788 and died in 1867. He produced these magnificent illustrations of British ornithology from specimens in his own collection. They were the first life-sized set of illustrations of British birds and are now scarce.
