A large and highly appealing Steiff Teddy Bear Sunny, EAN 035746, made in 2012 as a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, this example numbered 725. Sunny is one of Steiff’s larger modern limited-edition collector’s bears, measuring 60 cm / 23.5 inches, and is made in long, curly yellow mohair with a soft buttermilk tone. The bear has a warm, traditional Steiff character, with glass eyes, stitched brown nose and mouth, felt paw pads, original Steiff chest tag, gold-plated “Button in Ear”, white limited-edition ear tag, original swing tags, certificate and original pictorial Steiff box. The bear is fully jointed and has a working growler, giving it strong collector appeal as a large, complete and display-ready Steiff limited edition.

Condition

Excellent overall condition. The yellow mohair is bright, full and attractive, with only light evidence of careful handling. The felt paw pads are clean and well preserved, with very minor surface marking visible on close inspection. The stitched features are intact, the eyes are bright, and the bear retains its Steiff button-in-ear, white limited-edition ear tag, chest tag and swing tags. The growler is working. Supplied with original Steiff certificate and original box. The box shows light storage wear, but remains presentable and important to the completeness of the bear.
