Illustrated throughout by Michael Foreman. His first illustrated book and produced with his first wife, Janet Charters. Signed and dated by both Janet Charters and Michael Foreman to the front endpaper. Foreman would go on to win two Kate Greenaway Awards for Illustration and to be nominated five times. Binding nice and tight with only slight creasing and rubbing to the edges. Pages generally very nice and clean. A near fine, tight, bright, clean copy in very good, nicked and rubbed dustwrapper which has a few short, closed tears. Very scarce signed.
