The Ryder Cup 1949 Official Souvenir Programme Signed By Ben Hogan

Original wrappers. Size: 25.8cm x 20.9cm. Pp. 64. The eighth international golf match held at Ganton Golf Club, Yorkshire. Provenance: from the collection of J E Gent, a former English Amateur Golf International team player but not signed by him. A rare survival, with the yellow removable vouchers for the order of play for the event still present on page one. Signed by Max Faulkner along with many members of the USA team including Ben Hogan, the non-playing Captain, Stewart ‘Skip’ Alexander, Clayton Heafner, Lloyd Mangrum, Jimmy Demaret, Melvin ‘Chick’ Harbert, ‘Dutch’ Harrison, Sam Snead and Bob Hamilton. The wrappers to this fragile brochure are split to the spine with a minor amount of loss to the rear panel and the central pages are loose. Nevertheless this is a good copy with particularly uncommon signature of the great Ben Hogan.
