A fine boxed Steiff Teddy Boy 1905 Replica, EAN 404320, produced in 1998 as a limited edition of 6,000 pieces, this example numbered 1331. The bear is a large 50 cm replica of an early 1905 Steiff teddy bear, made in light blond mohair with a traditional long-limbed form, humped back, elongated muzzle, stitched brown nose and mouth, glass eyes, felt paw pads and the expected Steiff button-in-ear with white limited-edition ear tag. The chest medallion identifies the bear as “TEDDY BOY / Steiff Teddybär / 1905 Replica”. This example is complete with its original certificate and original Steiff presentation box marked “Replica 1998 / Teddy Boy 1905 / Hellblond 50”. A substantial and highly displayable Steiff replica bear, combining traditional materials, strong shelf presence and the completeness collectors look for.

Condition

Excellent overall condition. The mohair is full, clean and attractive, with a bright light-blond colour and no significant wear visible from inspection. The felt pads are clean and well preserved, the stitched features are intact, and the bear retains its Steiff button, white ear tag and chest medallion. Supplied with original certificate and original box. The box shows minor handling and storage wear, as is usual for these large Steiff presentation boxes, but remains a very good original accompaniment.
