Eleanor Grosch Art Prints and Illustrations

Explore our carefully assembled collection of art prints by American artist, illustrator and designer Eleanor Grosch. Her work is immediately recognisable for its elegant economy of form, carefully balanced colour and distinctive use of simplified geometric shapes. Drawing upon the traditions of mid-century Modernism while retaining a thoroughly contemporary character, Grosch transforms subjects ranging from cycling and travel to animals, architecture and narrative illustration into bold and highly decorative compositions.

Eleanor Grosch is an American illustrator and graphic designer whose career has encompassed editorial illustration, commercial design, posters and printmaking. After studying Fine Art at the University of South Florida, she established Pushmepullyou Design and subsequently developed a considerable international reputation. Her work has appeared in publications and campaigns for a wide variety of prominent clients, and her illustrations have received recognition from organisations including the Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts.

A particularly important strand of Grosch’s work concerns cycling and the visual culture surrounding professional road racing. Bicycles, riders, famous races and celebrated European climbs are reduced to beautifully controlled arrangements of line, shape and colour. Her cycling imagery includes interpretations of the Giro d’Italia and its mountain stages, alongside more playful celebrations of everyday bicycle culture. These works combine an obvious affection for cycling with the clarity and visual intelligence of accomplished graphic design.

Elsewhere, Grosch has explored architecture, travel, animals, nature and traditional stories. Her interpretations of familiar subjects frequently remove unnecessary detail while retaining the essential character of the scene. Figures, buildings and landscapes become carefully constructed silhouettes and patterns, often enlivened by a small number of contrasting colours. This economy gives her work an affinity with the great tradition of twentieth-century poster and commercial illustration while remaining distinctly her own.

Our stock principally comprises digital art prints, including examples in A3 format, representing different aspects of Grosch’s illustrative practice. Subjects may include professional cycling and the great European races, bicycles, architectural compositions, animals and imaginative interpretations of traditional stories. Availability varies as individual designs are sold.
