A boxed Steiff Teddy Bear 1951 Caramel 50, reference 408427, issued in 1996 as a limited edition of 5,000 pieces. This example is numbered 01221 and is accompanied by its original certificate and presentation box.

The bear measures 50 cm and is made in caramel-coloured mohair, with traditional Steiff styling inspired by the company’s mid-century teddy bear production. He has a hand-stitched nose, stitched mouth and claws, felt paw pads, Steiff button and white ear tag, together with the original chest tag and pale blue ribbon.

This example is especially appealing because it appears never to have been removed from the box and remains fixed in place with its original cable ties. The certificate is still present in its original rolled format. A very attractive modern Steiff replica bear, combining classic 1950s design, traditional materials, boxed presentation and strong collector appeal.

Condition

Excellent unused condition overall. The bear appears never to have been removed from the box and remains secured with the original cable ties. The caramel mohair is clean and well presented, with no obvious wear. The felt paw pads, stitched features, chest tag, Steiff button and ear tag are all present and in good order. The growler is working.

The original certificate and box are included. The box shows light age-related storage wear, minor marks and rubbing consistent with age.
