Tintin Sitting in the Grass – 47001 – Tintin Assis dans l’Herbe – Moulinsart Limited Edition Sculpture – 2022

A charming and highly evocative limited-edition sculpture depicting Tintin and Snowy seated in the grass, inspired by Hergé’s classic artwork from The Black Island (L’Île Noire). Produced by Moulinsart in 2022 under reference 47001, this officially licensed collector’s piece captures one of the most peaceful and contemplative scenes in the entire Tintin canon.

Unlike the action-packed adventures for which Tintin is often celebrated, this beautifully composed sculpture presents a quieter moment. Tintin sits thoughtfully upon a grassy bank while Snowy rests faithfully beside him, creating a scene that perfectly reflects Hergé’s gift for atmosphere, character and visual storytelling. The accompanying backdrop reproduces the original artwork that inspired the sculpture, allowing collectors to appreciate the direct connection between Hergé’s illustration and the finished three-dimensional interpretation.

Expertly sculpted in resin and finished with meticulous polychrome decoration, the piece faithfully recreates Tintin’s distinctive appearance, Snowy’s expressive character and the richly textured grassy setting. The combination of sculptural detail, colour accuracy and narrative charm makes this one of the most attractive display pieces issued by Moulinsart in recent years.

Standing approximately 17.5 cm high, the sculpture has a substantial presence while remaining suitable for display within both dedicated Tintin collections and broader collections of comic art and illustration.

Issued as a limited edition and supplied complete with its numbered certificate of authenticity, this example remains in new condition.

Official Tintin sculptures produced by Moulinsart are recognised worldwide for their accuracy, quality and close adherence to Hergé’s original artwork. This delightful scene from The Black Island is a particularly appealing example, capturing both the warmth and humanity that have made Tintin one of the most enduring characters in European literature and illustration.
