Hermann Teddy Original “Hubertus” Limited Edition Bear – No. 61/1000 – Mohair – c. 1990s

Description

A substantial and appealing Hermann Teddy Original “Hubertus” collector’s bear, produced in Germany as a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, this example individually numbered 61/1000.

Hubertus is made from long, softly textured golden-blond mohair, giving him a deliberately traditional and slightly shaggy appearance. He has a well-modelled head with closely set dark eyes, a pronounced muzzle and black stitched nose and mouth, while the long tapering limbs and generously proportioned body give the bear considerable presence.

An orange satin ribbon provides a simple contrast to the warm colouring of the mohair. The bear retains his original Hermann Teddy Original red seal, together with the manufacturer’s certificate identifying him by name and confirming his low individual edition number.

One foot pad is inscribed “61/1000”, providing a permanent identification corresponding with the accompanying certificate.

The internal growler is present and working correctly.

A particularly good example of Hermann Teddy Original’s traditional collector-bear production, combining large scale, natural mohair, classic proportions and a relatively small worldwide edition.

Condition

Excellent condition.

The long mohair remains clean, full and attractively presented, with no significant areas of loss or wear apparent. The facial features and foot pads are similarly well preserved.

The original ribbon, Hermann identification seal, woven arm label and certificate are present. There is only light handling consistent with careful display.

The growler works correctly.
